Quinault Valley Waterfall
In the rainforest of Quinault Valley on the Olympic Peninsula, light dances on the cedars surrounding this striking waterfall.
Waterfall Photography that Captures Power & Tranquility
This profound waterfall art print has a perfectly balanced composition, and lots of unique details for the eye to explore. I came across these falls by chance on my way to another trailhead in the Quinault Rainforest of the Olympic National Park. By pure chance or by divine timing, the lighting was hitting the area in the ideal way for fine art PNW waterfall photography. You see, if the sun is directly on the falls, you can’t do a long exposure to make the falls look smooth, and if it’s hitting only part of the falls, then that part blows out to white and looks terrible.
So almost all waterfall art photography with smooth flowing water has no direct sunlight and can look flat. But in this Pacific Northwest waterfall art print, the sun is coming from slightly behind the waterfall, illuminating the cedar and vine maple trees and only hitting a tiny corner of the falls. Thank you, Mother Nature!
