Quinault River Grandfather Cedar
A massive old growth cedar tree stands tall and mighty deep in the Quinault Rainforest of the Olympic Peninsula.
Fine Art Forest Photography Comes Alive on Vibrant Metal Prints
The Quinault is one of the three rainforests on Washington State’s Olympic Peninsula, a wonderland of mountain, ocean, and forest landscapes at the northwest corner of the United States. While I love creating rainforest artwork any chance I get, I learned a valuable lesson on this trip: July is not the best time for fine art rainforest photography.
Our daughter was at summer camp so a backpacking trip was in order, but we soon discovered that all of the moss and lush green rainforest landscapes can be pretty dry and brown this time of year. Fortunately, we also discovered this magnificent ancient cedar tree that looked positively radiant in the summer sunlight. So, I was able to enjoy the experience of framing and capturing this fine art cedar tree photography print along with savoring the warmth of the day.
