I had hiked up to this location near the top of Sauk Mountain while it was completely engulfed in a cloud. I wondered if I was going to get a chance to create any fine art photography at all, but being a committed Pacific Northwest nature photographer, I knew better than to let a little overcast weather discourage me. All at once, the cloud I was in pealed back and the sunshine burst through, lighting up this glorious Skagit Valley landscape just in time to capture the fine art wildflower photograph you’re looking at.
