It was the last night of a three-day Pacific Northwest mountain photography backpacking trip to Park Butte on the south side of Mount Baker. We planned to reach our vehicle, which was 4 miles away from this location, before dark. But the conditions hadn’t been that great up to this point and I was attached to going home with at least one new fine art Mount Baker photography wall art print.
 
Even though there was not a cloud in the sky yet, I had a feeling it would be a Mount Baker sunset photograph worth waiting for. It took a bit of negotiating to get my wife to agree to stay for the sunset and hike all the way out with all our backpacking gear it the dark, but it was worth it in the end. Just after the sun went below the horizon, these delicate clouds drifted up from the horizon and lit up pink, while turning the blue sky and blue mountain lovely shades of purple for this fine art Pacific Northwest mountain photography print.
