Jordan Basin Sunset Afterglow
The warm glow after sunset washes over a joyous jumble of alpine wildflowers blanketing the slopes of the Jordan Basin in the Goat Rocks Wilderness.
Fine Art Mountain Photography that Inspires the Soul
Perhaps it’s because the Goat Rocks wilderness is one of the oldest mountain ranges in Washington State that the soil here seems to be absolutely perfect for alpine wildflowers to thrive in. Nowhere else in the Northwest have I seen such massive, sprawling wildflower fields, nor have I so enjoyed taking mountain wildflower photographs. That said, it can be quite challenging to create fine art prints that do justice to this subject and finding compositions that showcase both the delicate beauty of the wildflowers while taking in the sweeping surroundings is one of my greatest challenges as a PNW nature photographer.
On this trip, my perfect wildflower mountain photography moment came just after the sun had left the sky. I positioned my tripod low to the ground precisely at this angle which captured wave after wave of flower covered hillsides marvelously in this Pacific Northwest mountain art print.
